Volunteer on Campus
Are you interested in being a parent or a community volunteer? Adults who wish to volunteer at a Santa Rosa City School campus, drive and/or chaperone a field trip, provide consulting services or any other (non-Coach) volunteer activity are processed through an online platform called Be A Mentor.
Santa Rosa City Schools have four (4) levels of volunteer clearance and tracking. During the online application process, you will be asked to choose the level or levels of clearance you will need based on your anticipated involvement. For a full description of all levels, visit the SRCS Volunteer webpage. You may choose to select one, two, three, four, or all three levels of clearance:
Level 1 (What most parents will qualify under): Classroom, School Site, Field Trip Chaperones and After School Volunteers (This includes non-SRCS student volunteers from outside agencies or other Districts): These volunteers help in classrooms, with school-based events/activities and after school programs, sporting events or enrichment programs. (This does not include Volunteer Coaches). Level 1 Volunteers require the following: Fingerprinting, Copy of Photo ID, Sex Offender Search (Meghan’s Law), TB Screening Assessment, and Mandated Reporter Training.
We are happy to announce that the district has made recent changes to make this process easier:
-
The Mandated Reporter Training video has been shortened to just under 15 minutes AND is now available in Spanish.
-
For the fingerprinting process, you will need to provide a government issued photo ID. Your photo identification must show your name, date of birth, and photograph. You can use any document from the following list: State identification (ID) card, Driver license, US passport or passport card, US military card (front and back), Military dependent's ID card (front and back), Permanent Resident Card, Certificate of Citizenship, Certificate of Naturalization, Employment Authorization Document, and Passport.
-
The Be a Mentor online application is available in Spanish. However, there are a few documents within the process that are still being translated.
-
The photo ID that you will submit on Be a Mentor can be any photo of yourself. This photo will be shared with the school, so please be sure the photo clearly shows your face.
